Pilates, a method of exercise that specializes in core strength, flexibility, balance, and control, is especially well-suited for improving sports performance.
As a fond skier, I noticed many injuries of the knee and lower back. Most injuries often occur from form fatigue and poor core stablization. It is so important that skiers strengthen their core and maintain their stability so they can enjoy the sport a lot more.
Pilates help skiers address the following:
strengthening and opening the hip flexors while keeping a stable pelvis
building balance skills
aligning your spine, knees, hips and feet.
supporting the ability to turn the hips with a stable upper body
strengthening and stretching the back
overall core conditioning
