1. Is the mat course required before taking a reformer course?
No, it is no longer required. However instructors who didn’t learn mat generally don’t have full understanding of how body works. Reformer is just one kind of environment for body to work with. It depends on your goal as a Pilates instructor. If your interest is to understand why and how Pilates can improve body function more effectively and easily than other forms of fitness, starting with mat course is a better learning environment.
2. Observation and Teaching Practice: Would it be possible to use your studio for the observation hours and teaching practice required by Balanced Body?
Yes. Observation is free. There are two offers for practicing.
1. Rent studio by ¥2200 per hour for mat, ¥3300 per hour for apparatus including reformer, trapeze table, chair and barrel per the training you did. You will need to bring a body to teach or practice teaching with other students.
2. We help you find a body to teach. You don’t get paid, the body will pay for the studio rental fee. For this method, Helen will observe you during training, when she thinks it is safe for you to practice on a client alone. If she doesn’t think it is safe for you to practice teaching on a client alone. You will need to pay Helen's time to practice teaching on a client with her together or practice teaching with other students or your family/friends first. (or use your free mentoring hours for this purpose.)
Hours requested after taking course before test out are various.
Personal Practice hours are 25 hours or more;
Observation hours are 25 hours or more;
Teaching practice hours are 35 hours or more.
3. Personal Sessions: Do the personal sessions required for course completion start counting only after the course begins, or can they be accumulated beforehand?
Only after completion of the course.
4. Test Out Location: Where can I take Balanced Body Pilates Test Out Application?
You can apply through us or other balanced body authorized training centers. Test out fee is between USD250-400. It might change according to Balanced body.
5. Class Size: Could you please let me know the typical student numbers for the course?
We focus on teaching you understand why and how Pilates movements have the magic of those benefits, not just the movements alone. That’s why we run small classes (2-6ppl). By learning why and how you have deeper understanding of working with human body and better chance to provide more efficient program to your future clients.
6. Financial Policies: What are your studio’s cancellation, refund, and payment policies? Are there any additional fees that are not listed on the website that I should be aware of?
No refund for any cancellation 1 month before the training date.
Manual is ¥10000 per manual.
7. Session Rescheduling: In case of unforeseen circumstances, would it be possible to change the time or session that I have already applied for?
Yes. Please discuss with Helen.
