The 4 Stages of Frozen Shoulder: What Your Shoulder Needs at Each One
Frozen shoulder is often described in phases: freezing, frozen and thawing. But knowing the name of your phase doesn't tell you what to do about it. In my studio, I work with four stages based on what your shoulder is actually ready for: calming a painful, guarded shoulder; creating space as movement returns; building strength and stability; and keeping it that way. Each stage needs something different, and moving on too early is the most common reason people feel they've gone backwards. In the full article, I explain what each stage feels like, what your shoulder needs, what tends to backfire, and how to tell where you are right now.
