Breast Cancer Awareness Month is more than just pink ribbons. it's about providing and getting the support and understanding needed through recovery and beyond.
Highlights this October
October is a month of health, and these are great reminders to check in on our health! Which of these will you be doing something meaningful for?
1st October World Vegetarian Day
6th October World Smile Day
10th October World Mental Health Day
14th October Health and Sports Day in Japan
Breast cancer awareness month
Breast cancer affects 2.3 million women worldwide.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and My Body My Pilates advocates for the physical and mental health of women during this international health campaign and beyond.
Here are some things you can do to build awareness and support recovery:
Make sure you schedule your annual mammogram (remind your family members to do the same). Early detection makes a difference.
Learn more about breast cancer through educational content, podcasts, books etc.
Donate to your local organisations that support people recovering from breast cancer.
Know someone who has been affected by the disease? Offer specific ways to help e.g. getting groceries, walking the dog, making a homemade meal, or simply checking in to ask how they are doing.

Upper Body Mobility Workshop
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our founder and Pilates Educator, Helen Zhang, will be giving a special Upper Body Mobility Workshop. Places are filling up fast so make sure you book now. Last day to sign up is 29th September!
This is a workshop specially designed with those recovering from breast cancer treatments in mind. We will be looking at exercises to improve mobility in the arms, shoulders and spine. These are the areas that are most easily affected by breast cancer treatments.
The exercises are gentle and tailored to support the recovery process and help attendees gain renewed strength and freedom of movement.
Date & Time: Sunday October 6th from 2pm to 5pm
Duration: 3 hours
Fee: ¥15,000
